Underside/under ride protection bar

Hi All
just found my said bar is rotton,while looking for info, various people have claimed this bar is obsolete as it does not even protect the track rod,therefore is it really necessary to replace it

It as you day does not really protect anything, although it also provides a fixing for the lower part of the bumper.........If you have a steering guard fitted, then its no issue to remove it, mine was off long ago.

Thanks Urban,
couldnt see how it helped with the bumper,but a new one is £125 from Rimmer Bros.If its really needed to help with the bumper i shall buy one,if not i will leave it off
