Underbody Rust

I have a 97 V8 Discovery Mk I.
It has just failed MOT with underbody rust (rear cross member, sills etc.) and the servicing garage have said that it will cost many £hundreds in welding.
The vehicle is probably not worth enough for this level of spend.
I am in Kingsbridge in Devon. Can anyone please help

do you want a contribution towards the cost of having it welded or help lifting the shopping outta the car ?

Nice response Sean. I guess what I need is to find someone local who can undertake the welding work at a better pric

might be better in the proper place as well. I:E the discovery section. This is for vehicle specific faults and remedies.
