right - bought the landy back in april as a project, i have just recently sent the papers off to dvla, as the previous owner didnt bother updating colour change or engine change. (colour change is legit as the interior is the previous colour)
dvla state that if the engine was changed prior to purchase then a headed letter from a garage is needed.
what exactly is needed tobe wrote down on that headed paper?
is it just that the engine is to standards and fit for road use?
nothings ever simple when it comes to dvla

I had the same problem a few years back with a V8 conversion. I took the Landy to a garage and they confirmed on their headed paper that the conversion had been performed in a professional manner and recorded the engine No.

That worked for me :)

Although some money did change hands ;)

Struggling with this myself at the moment, the landy-friendly garage that I want to take it for an MOT isn't entirely happy about the undeclared engine change, and because it hasn't got an MOT I can't take it somewhere...aargh!

I don't see the problem. When i did my 200 conversion last year i just sent the log book off with the new engine numbers on and dvla just amended it.

If you're changing from petrol to diesel is when it starts getting messy I think...change of cc's sometimes can...just a change of engine number won't need a thing
