unbelievable!!!!!!

right folowing on from chassis fred,this series 3 has been sat in a barn for 6 years,we put a new battery on,took apart the carb and cleaned it,disconnected fuel lines and put some fuel to the carb via a bottle,after 5 mins of turning over and a bit of spluttering the bloomin thing sprung into life and ticks over lovely,couldnt bloody belive it.

dont know why he done it between us we already have a disco 2 v8,a 200 tdi defender,a 300 tdi defender and a disco 200 tdi bobtail,more than enough to keep us busy,we must be mad

beacause taking landys apart and changing and fixing them is a addiction

the best bit was the price,he wanted offers around £600 we went along offerd him £275 left him with it for a couple of days and then he accepted it..

seeing as the bonnet strengh members and the top of the air filter are rusty i suspect the chassis isnt going to be mint - do the right thing, strip it down fully to the chassis and rebuild it properly so it lasts another 25 years

that's your summer sorted

thats the plan we are hoping to get a galvanised chassis,its gonna be a long term thing,the other landys still keep us busy
