unable to identify series

Hi guys i am new to the forum here. Really appreciate if you guys can help me determine the series of this landy. Saw it across the street today and am currently trying to get in touch with the owner to see if he is willing to sell it =D. Would like a rouge gauge just to know how old this landy is!thanks!

thanks guys for the quick response!!because of the removal of some parts, is the lightweight inferior in someways when compared to a stnadard series 3?
 
Everything on a 'Series' Land Rover comes off simple tools. And sometimes they just come off on their own....

Lighweights were built for the army to airlift into battle/ down the pub for last orders, so are basically a rarer form of a normal Land Rover (whatever normal is).
 
You can get a diesels version . When this vehicle was first conceived it was meant for the military market only and the crazy dutch asked for a diesels and we got the petrol. There is still a few good condition dutch diesels being stored for sale. I past my test in one back in 89 and lets just say the steering wheel moved 2 inches either way before contact was made with the steering box. Still i would have one tomorrow .
 
this one sounded like a diesel when i drove it.am pretty sure it is diesel.really wonder how the owner got it into singapore. will try to contact him !

its original owners probably left it there....... we were stationed there for a long time.. last troops out in 76 although we had a presence in hong kong until far later

one of my landrovers came from an auction/sale in Singapore, it was a New Zealand ex-military, one of ten sold to the dealer that imported it back to the U.K.
