New coolant bottle as the float in the old was porous and kept giving the low coolant message. Some previous owner had turned off the warning message in the ccf.

Iirc the ccf is arse about face for the bottle warning, ie off is actually on?

A

All i know is it wasn't activated in the ccf so had been turned off as soon as I activated it I kept getting the warning flash up every time I turned on the ignition.

Bloody love my gap tool.....

I will have to recheck mine just to be sure.

So not much has been done iv wet vac the carpets they have come up like new. The little bulb that show you where your ignition key goes was dud so that got replaced today with a nice blue 1.....looks good.
I really will need to find a bit more time so I can do the lower front control arms and brake pads.
It's driving nice it's going up on a ramp in a couple of weeks for full underbody inspection let's see if that shows anything.

It didn't take long the new to me V8 D3 has had its first fault.
Driving along and loads of fault lights come up on the dash and the off side front brake applies its self..........car lowers and restricted performance.

Bugger a quick check on the D3 owners site suggests steering angle sensor but not the actual sensor but the plastic ring attached to the steering column that rotates the sensor.

Plug in my gap tool and the sas is widely out I try resetting it and all seems good until I put right full lock on and it reads -2000 degrees opps.
Time to get under the dash and check that ring yes it's loose my remedy is to fill a syringe with superglue so I can actually get the glue where it needs to go it's all upside down under there.

Well happy to report all fixed still can't upload photos.

Brilliant it was an easy fix mate and ur enjoying the new motor

dont mind admitting I’ll be heartbroken to see mine go after all the hard work that’s been put into it , but hopefully the burble of a V8 will make me forget and enjoy a new one , lol

Really hope I can stay with a discovery seeing I know them and will just be the case of learning about the engine and what’s needed for servicing etc

Not updated this in a bit, sorry not being able to post a few pics is a real problem when I can't show the progress made.

The new to us D3 petrol is proving to be a good old girl it had a new centre prop recently not sure if I mentioned it and has so far been running fine. The wife is using it more often as I now trust the car to behave its self sooooo at some point our tdv6 D3 HSE will be up for sale unless the ulez gets kicked into touch.
If the courts or government were going to stop it they should have/would have by now.

The whole thing is a complete kick in the nads I sold my P38 on here to a good home on the understanding I couldn't get it ulez approval and luckily for others on here their p38 V8s are getting passed when applied for my L322 v8 has been refused so that will be going to.

So if any one living outside the M25 or any other air tax zone is interested in a very well looked after D3 tdv6 HSE 2005 so cheaper tax bracket I will soon be in the market to sell once again.
