Disco 3 (LR3) Ulez made me do it

So that cnut kharn has fecked us all over with the ulez expansion. I prepared my self for this by selling my treasured P38 as there was no way of ever getting it ulez approved. And just incase I bought a 4.2 sc rrs for the wife to replace her very well sorted D3 tdv6 but she said it's OK.....meaning it's not SO........iv bought her D3 v8 ups urs kharn.

Pics to follow it needs a full service and clean up iv plenty of time to do it then we will have to sell her D3 on to someone outside the tax zone ermmm I mean clean air zone.

The black one that was on Ebay by any chance???

Me and the wife were discussing how many peeps this whole thing will royally feck over. Especially those who cannot just go out and buy a new compliant vehicle.
So....... all those EVs and all those newer cars.......
their batteries will get fecked and need replacing soon.
Time to invest in Varta or some other batt companies!!!

dam it, I’m not jealous at all, yeah right who am I kidding , lol

plus 1, particularly if the proposed 2023 increase comes into force as I’ll then be just on the border , will make it very expensive if I wish to visit my parents who live in West Wickham , £12.50 I think it is

Dread to think as well what are going to happen to trades who rely on the vehicle every day , either passing it on to the customer or possibly going bust

I think at least one trade has already been on the forum saying he'll have to sell his P38, maybe to finance a new vehicle. It mainly forces diesels off as even quite old petrols are OK, the wife's 04 Citroen for instance. But who sells petrol vans?
And parking in Lunnen as a trade is such a feckin nightmare, it makes using a petrol car or estate and a trailer even more impossible.
Prices could suddenly go well weird!

I bet , think the last time a company I worked for bought a petrol van was in the 80’s , lol

Many thks and indeed am Sevenoaks council but with a BR postcode , also wondered if selco will be inside the ULEZ , looking on the map of the new area it’s not like a few streets that there expanding it by but a huge amount

see the scrap scheme only offers 2k towards another motor , in all honesty if I do have to change mine I won’t be able to afford a petrol D3 but more likely a petrol FFRR seeing there cheaper than the D3

Plus just checked and won’t be able to take Candy to some of her favourite parks any more, as there just across the proposed 2023 boundary

So some of the service parts have started to arrive the mail strike is causing a huge problem so I began with a full o0utside clean and polish.
Interior has had its 1st clean it will need a few more.
Things that don't work
Heated seats
Radio
Dvd player
Battery won't hold a charge.

New battery fitted
Removed stripped and inspected the radio after checking everything else. Radio pcb shorted out due to sticky drink spill on the past......New Radio fitted.
Dvd player beyond repair New old stock on order.

Brake pads arrived waiting to be fitted have 4mm on the old so no rush

New lower control arms sitting in the garage

All filters and fluids

I am having same issues with pics, general opinion is there is a forum issue, but it must only effect some, as others can still upload images.

So I still can't upload photos, error message says I do t have permission to access oh well.
Things iv done so far
New battery
New Radio ebay purchase same as original but working
Iv sourced a new old stock roof mounted dvd player I will prob never use it but its there so needs to work the logic 7 surround sound is mind blowing in yhe car with a blue Ray playing.
Complete interior led upgrade you can see just how crap the original bulbs are when compared to our other cars so it needed to be done.
Iv given it a light paint correction due to surface scratches on the ns now all gone. The weathers to cold for a proper polish but it got a mild 3 stage electric polisher clean. It's just to damp the polish didn't haze but it's OK for now.

Lower arms
X2 new keys arrived gonna get the blades cut then program them my self with my gap tool.
New spare wheel winch arrived will fit that when the spare turns up.

Bits I'm waiting on
Spare wheel n tyre
Tool kit none in the car
Rear wiper arm original siezed at the elbow it all works but the blade won't stay on the glass.

Think that's about it I'm gonna run around in it for a while to get to know it once everything is sorted then hand it over to the wife.

We will sadly be selling her d3 tdv6 in the new year shame as its a very well sorted car with new air pump, air tank, centre prop, lower front control arms, v8 upgraded brakes all round, upgraded oil pump etc. It was gonna be a keeper for sure till kahrn fecked us.

Hopefully mods will sort the picture upload issue soon

X2 new keys cut I programmed them my self all working fine. Pollen filter arrived 2 min job to swop out.

great u got the new keys , also done the same with buying the new keys off eBay then getting the blank cut in green street green , think u advised me of that locksmith when I needed to get my blanks cut
