Hi Guys

Before I get set on fire, can I just say I have done some extensive searching on this, not just popped up here with the question without searching first. But can't find a specific answer to my question

I am looking at all Terrain tyres, after much researching I think the General Grabber AT2, is the one I want.

My Current Tyres are 255,60,18 It might sound a dumb question but do I order the same size AT2 tyres , or is there a benefit in different sizes?

Also do I keep the same pressure 28/38?

Can I also add I have seen many threads about tramlining and wandering , I drove the car up the motorway today and i thought it was gonna kill me.... did some searching, checked for correct tyre pressure, and they were all out by a mile. Set to 28 front 38 rear, and drove it back down motorway.... all I can say is what a difference!! felt like a different car and had total confidence in it, so for anyone with same problem pressures make a huge difference.

You haven't stated which car you have, P38 or L322? A P38 with 18" rims should have 255/55R18 tryes, the L322 I think may be 60 profile.

I have just fitted 255/55R18 General Grabber AT to my P38, don't fit the AT2, they are an older design and by now should be unavailable. The transformation from my old mid price road biased tyres was very noticable for the better, no more tramlining. Although the AT tyre is a 50/50 on/off road tyre they are very quiet on tarmac, sure footed and grippy. I haven't regretted it one little bit. Pressures for these tyres seems to be best at 30 psi front, 38 psi rear.

Funnny enough I have ordered the AT not the AT2, although I am now worried as I have ordered 255 60 18, as thats what is on my P38 now, and last the tyre guy said it was the right size.... have I ordered the wrong one?
 
The book states 55 profile tyres on 18" rims, I know some people do run 60 profile but this appears to be tyres already fitted to later 18" rims from an L322 then put onto their P38. You should really be running 55s. A 60 profile if fitted to the spare wheel won't go in the spare wheel well either, it's too big.
 
My book also says 255/55R18 (or 255/65R16 if on 16" wheels).

I am also considering fitting General ATs. Black Circles do a full set for £606 including fitting. Does this sound a good deal?

Blimey 18"s are a lot dearer, recently had a set of GG ATs fitted to my P38 from blackcircles for £433 inc vat. They are superb by the way a decent off road tyre which is very good on the road.
 
I had cooper stt's on my 110, brilliant tyres. When i bought my L322 it had AT2's on it and 2 were needing replaced........after a whole day tryin to source some i ended up goin for the AT's on 255/55/18 been on for 5months and cant fault them at all, good on road, good in the snow and quite good offroad
