Can anyone please tell me if im ok fitting flat plate type spacers on a Defender 90 fitted with disco alloys , reason im getting tyre rub on the radius arms and my stop is fully out .

There must be something seriously wrong if your getting rubbing on standard wheels with standard axles etc!

Unless your running 38" tyres!

If you want to fit alloys & spacers then the flat ones are no good, they have to be the ones with the central spigot. The flat ones are for use with steel wheels.

i have 265/75R16 on Disco 1 steels now i know they are ****e but i have the same problem i have been told it is something to do with the offset or lack off i still have no idea if i need new rims or smaller tyres. So keep coming with the ideas would longer stop bolts do the job here as well?????

I already have the alloys on with insa turbos , its very rarely a problem and they only just touch , hence it was just a thougt to put 10mm alloy spacers , the big polo mint with holes in , Now some say they will be ok and some say not ????? . i do like the longer stop bolts idea . Wheels + tyres as in avitar

don't worry about it when they start rubbing just reduce you're turn a little problem sorted
Hi yes , Thats what i do , as i said i very rarely if at all have it happen , it is as i also said its due an MOT and i bet when getting on/off the ramp they will twist lock to lock as though its a oil tanker .

doubt they will test the lock whilst moving and probably wouldnt have enough room to lock to lock, there's plenty of landys that rub a little. usually the lock to lock test is just to check the steering joints, and action ect.

Just me been over cautious , i know its not in the test as such when mobile to lock to lock , but where you or i would stop if we felt a rub they maybe would not , so if a 10mm spacer or longer bolts will prevent it happening its best done . Now will these spacers fit ok with alloys ???? , they are only 10mm so studs should be long enough , theres some on ebay and the centre hole looks adequate etc .??
