Hi all, I"m sure you"ll all be glad to hear that my 2003 Serengeti Auto has passed her test again.
Now all I need to sort out is a set of brand new tyres.
So question 1:- I know you have to have all 4 tyres the same but will my spare which is hardly used be ok to keep.
2) The tyres that were on it when I bought it are WESTLAKE RP16 and they seem to have been very good so I was wondering whether to replace them with WESTLAKE SW658 or WESTLAKE ALL SEASON ELITE Z 401.
Does anyway have any knowledge of these tyres?

Westlake tyres are Chinese in origin, and are actually pretty good, assuming you're not using the vehicle on a race track.

I have no complaints with most of the Chinese tyres I've used over the years, and I've tried a few now.

They're not as good as premium brands, but not far off and considerably cheaper.

I've used Westlake, Jinyu and Goodride and found them all to be acceptable for slow vehicles like the Freelander.

If I was wanting maximum life and grip, then I'd be going with Cooper or Yokohama tyres, but for normal use, I find the Chinese tyres acceptable.
