Ok so I'm in need of a new spare and as much as I'd like to stick to the BFG's they're a bit too expensive to keep using so has anyone had any experience with the following;

Mickey Thomson Baja SJZ
Yokohama Geolander A/T-S GO12
Hankook Dynapro MT
Toyo Open Country
Kuhmo MT KL71
Cooper STT's (in 255/70/R16)

Yes I know three of those are MT's but I want to upgrade to MT's from the AT's I'm currently running at some point so my plan was to either get an MT as a spare in the same size 245/70/R16 or get an AT and then replace all of the AT's once worn with MT's and have an AT of the same size as a spare ?

The Coopers are a size bigger (still shouldn't have to mod) but its because they're £10 cheaper than the 245/70/R16's :confused:

Dynapros all the way mrs has the ATs on her Mitsubishi and I have the MTs on mine, Even on the Ice the MTs performed well.

Cheers, I was looking mainly at them as I liked the the tread pattern. The BFG's were ruled out due to me being on the old tread pattern and the guy not being able to get hold of them anymore plus the cost :eek: £150 for one

STTs are great tyres, mate of mine has them in 265/75 16 on his Disco.

I have recently fitted a set of 35" Hankook Dynapro MTs to my 110, and have been really impressed with them for the price.

They are a mud terrain tyre but not too aggressive. They're really quiet on the road, especially considering the size, and yet they bite far better in mud than my old A/Ts did.

i had dynapro mt,s prior to fitting simex, gotta say they are a good tyre, reasonably quite, work well on a variety of surfaces and worn well, price is good and there usually on offer at camskill, and there available in loads of sizes, can't think why i changed now!

Had these on my old Sport Track, I agree with Mr Langers

Cheers John, thats my mind made up then

They're cheap, look good and perform well. Out of question though, did you find them decent in heavy rain ?

never had a problem with them, and i sold them for more than i paid for them after 14 months use

Had KL71's on my last 3 4x4's and they've been absolutely brilliant- even dragged me out of some mud that my mates Insa Turbo special Tracks couldn't cut through. Not at all bad on the road either, I do tend to throw my Disco around! Currently running 285/75/16 KL71s on my D1 300TDi....
