Tyre size

My ex military Tithonus needs new tyres, I was going for Cooper discoverer stt in 235/85/16 however at the weekend I've seen a few 110 fitted with the wider lower profile 265/75/16 cooper discoverer, these were fitted to the same Wolf wheels as I have and filled the arches slightly better. Anyone have any experience with the 265 on the Wolf rims?

I think they are fine put can look a tiny bit 'pinched', I think they are supposed to be better on a 7" wide rim, wolfs are 6.5, having said that I also know a bloke that has run 265's on the standard landy steel with no untoward problems, although radius arm rubbing and that pinched look aren't exactly great! 235/85 are brilliant tyres for a defender and will usually outperform a wider one off road.
