Hi,

I know that has been on here a lot, but I was wondering about the pressure for my tyres to use when let'say I am on the road and need to check it. Attached is a pic from my handbook for the td4 '02, so usually running it on 2.1 (30). It seems easy as it states same for all conditions. That is what I understand is when it's cold, but when I am on the motorway and think/need to check it what to do then?. Would I need to go up, let's say to 2.2 or could I keep the same resp. go down?

Conti, I am running CrossContact UHP, 215/65/16, says for a FL1 a bit different here http://www.continental-tyres.co.uk/www/download/tyres_uk_en/general/downloadarea/download/air-pressure-2010-en.pdf 2 for normal and 2.2 full.

Anyone's a thought what to do under 'warm' conditions? I.e. how long would I need to wait for 'cooling' down?

Kind Regards
Matthias

i should think you would check prerssure before you go on a motorway. i was always told to check tyres pressure when cold.

Check pressure when cold. But as long as they are the same it's all ok. People raise or lower their pressures to suit their driving and how they want it to feel. I think a lot of people run around 28

I always run mine at the 30 psi recommend by LR.
If you must check tyres when hot, pump them up an extra 10%. This won't be far off the hot tyre pressure. Close enough not to worry about anyway.

From experience, most gauges can be out by more than 3 psi anyway.

Thanks Nodge68, that's what i was looking for. Sometimes I just forget and I prefer to have a back-up.

I can't find my manual at the moment but I'm pretty certain the tyre pressures in mine are different to yours. For example, I do know that in mine it says the rear pressures when towing go up to 44psi.

Okay, found the manual.

Although it doesn't specifically mention towing it does talk about 44psi in the rears when fully laden.
