I hav recently changed my 235/70/16 BFG mud tyres on alloys to 235/85/16 BFG commercial traction tyres which are on steel wheels, it feels as if the landrover is struggling to reach 70 plus, when on my mud tyres it didnt seem to be a problem, also the fuel consumption seems a little less ??
My vehicle is mostly used for 80% road an 20% off road,i hav also noticed since i changed the wheels a rubbing noise on full lock ?? has anybody used these tyres before an hav u had any problems with them??

Regards Tony

Speed loss and loss of fuel effciancy could be bcos they are slightly wider so you hav more resistance on the road. the rubbing noise on full lock will be the tyres rubbing on the chassis or radius arms. thats easy to solve you just hav to alter the steering lock which just involves turning a nut.

the tyres are actually taller, therefore you have a larger rolling radius
235/70/16 = 231cm rolling radius, 73.5cm diameter
235/85/16 = 253cm rolling radius, 80.5cm diameter
