Am wanting to keep my ES alloys, what is the widest AT tyre that would fit on 33x16 rims? It doesn't seem to state anywhere?! Would I need deeper alloys/ modulars for 265x75x16s?

I guess so! Have read somewhere about 37s so thought best state 33 that's all! Tbh was expecting something like this for posting a tyre thread.. ;)

7j is the width 16 is the diameter 33 is the offset

about the biggest i would fit is 265/75r16

you would need an 8j for a 285

Fantastic, 265-75-16 it is then. Other than the usual bumper/wing trimming and speedo under-reading there shouldnt be any other issues with using 30mm offset wheels? Would I need spacers?

No worries with the steering stops - can just add it to the never ending list of things to do to get the disco off SORN! Forgot to mention its on std suspension n'all.
No plans for any serious off roading other than hooning round the odd field, although I do want to be able to tow. Do you think it would shred the tyres pulling a trailor + car?

And finally - any recommendations? Am ploughing through reviews but there's a lot out there..
I currently have 235/70 General Grabber AT2s, although 2 have punctures and never got to drive the landy before taking it off the road! Worth going for the same in 265/75?

Okay - after plenty of reading up have decided I want one shot at this and don't want to end up changing them in 6months time!
Am looking to go as wide as possible without a big step up in diameter(height) so have found some Kumho 834MT 31/11.5s on 15" deep modulars which look pretty sweet! Fitting extended arches, trimming and swapping bump stops will not be an issue. Would I have to go for a lift aswell? Website states it may not be required depending on whether the springs have sagged. If I do - would 1" lift be enough?
According to a few tables on tinterweb swapping from 235/70/16 to 31/11.5/15 would result in a diameter and width increase both of 2" (smaller diameter than previously recommended 265 75 16).. Help muchos appreciated :D

I wouldn't worry too much about your speedo being out. mine is more acurate now that I have 265/75's (on well according to my gps and some one I was following) and haven't got any speeding tickets yet

Also, is there an offset I should be looking for with deep dish modulars and 11.5" wide tyres.
Have done various searches and can't find an answer - I appreciate tyres differ in sizes between manufacturers..

Thanks, that's reassuring (I think!!)
