tyre choice

Hi I am going to replace the tyres on my td5 ,at the moment it has 235x70x16 mix on it and i am wondering the best size and make[value ] tyre to replace them with. I thought of BF goodridge all terain can anyone out there help with choice and price guid cheers peeps .

It all depends on what you want to do with them & how many £££'s you want to spend.

well BF's are at the top of the price range so anything else you buy is probably gonna be cheaper. PM Yella he's got a deal going to supply cheap khumos

Greetings, as an UK "outlander" I can tell you that I purchased a set of 255/70/16 BF, all terrain used but very good shaped tyres for 100Euro(aprox65&#163 from Germany. I do this all the time, last time I made 17000km on 100Euro . It's better a used BF Goodrich than a bran new no name tyre made in Korea, Taiwan, China....
Anyway, if you can afford buy some new BF's but you'll go for max 40-45000km and spend at least 500£.

Cheers for the Help guys ,i got a set of Goodyear Wrangler 235x70x16R fitted and balanced for £360.00 not bad i thought,still wrong time of year to have to get done bah Humbug

Hey, I'd recommend from my experience an AT tyre. I had 235/70 x 16s on my disco by BFG,I noticed a significant difference for the better in ride quality over normal road rubber.I got about 35k miles out of that set and a friend who got nearly 90k out of his! on road they're very good although if you get silly in the wet they will understeer a bit(!).And I was pleased with its perfomance off road too in all but the muddiest conditions where the treads would clog. I've now got General grabber AT2s in 235/85 x 16 which although larger I haven't noticed any real differences in either on or off road performance compared to the bfg. I got both the sets of tyres from Nene Valley, I spoke to gary and he was very helpful regarding sizes and tread pattern and was adverse to haggling. I got the five bfg's,steel rims(disco 1 fitment),wheel nuts and shipping for £600 a couple of years ago. I understand from a friend's experience in trying to get steel rims for his disco 2 that its not easy so he just ordered tyres only to fit onto 16" rims.He got rid of the 18" rims after having problems with pinch flats on the lower profile tyres and that the choice of tyre size wasnt so good.
