I have just put a set of General Grabber UHP's on mine not done many miles but they have a low road noise handled well in dry/wet conditions and were fine in the snow even the bit of driving i did light off road.:)

Hi all,

I need a set of new tyres for the freelander, what is the best tyre for wet roads ?

Continental Conti4X4Contact are the best I've ever fitted - wish I'd tried them years ago.

They do meet all the specifications mentioned by earlier posters/****-takers:
Round, black, and with tready bits.

They are biased for 80% on-road, 20% off-road and are M+S rated.

If you never, ever go off-road you could consider a normal car tyre as opposed to a 4X4 tyre. Wont be so good in snow or ice though.

Singvogel.
