These cars just love to kick us in the nuts don't they?
I drove across town to a parcel drop-off shop. Got out, locked the car (on the fob) delivered the parcel and came out and the car would not respond to the fob. Opened the door with the key and got a double chirp on the BBUS and "Engine Immobilised" on the console whhen I tried to start her up.
I had to walk all the way home to get the "other fob" and pick up my black-box.

Now the "other fob" opened her up and she started with no trouble at all (Valid code of course).
How specifically do I turn off immobilisation and EKA and all that?

I went onto the EKA screen and deleted the 4 digits there and saved.
What else do I need to do to get:
Fob based lock/unlock, key based lock/unlock, no immobilisation?

I find the black box to be a bit cryptic and a little less than intuitive (but maybe that's just me being thick). ;)

In the BECM menu from memory. Settings maybe. There's alarm and immobiliser. Possibly EKA too. Been years since I switched mine off.

Leave the alarm on, just turn off the Immobiliser & EKA, you then operate the car with just the key blade.
It's in Settings, no numbers that I'm aware of, just the option to turn off. The 4 digits you deleted were possibly the actual EKA code which should not have been touched, but I did not know it was possible to delete the code or change it with Nanocom.

Hi Keith,
My Nanocom showed a keyboard to enter/edit the EKA code, and a delete key on the keyboard.
I will re-read the thing tomorrow see if it did delete it.

That's a new one on me, as far as I was aware it was not possible to edit the EKA code, only enter the code and then only on later BECM's instead of using the key to enter it. I have Faultmate not Nanocom so I'm not that familiar with the Nanocom possibilities.

That sounds right. I didn't even think you could see it without unlocking the BECM. Maybe Callrova did something to it?

You cannot see EKA in Nanocom. That screen is for entering the EKA assuming you have later BECM.

The delete button should only appear after entering digits, to allow you to correct finger errors.

Well, when it showed me the screen, the correct digits were already there, and the "cancel" key on the keyboard "backspaced" them out from the screen and then I did a save.
I have not gone back in yet to see if it did in fact delete the digits.

I’ve tried that grrrr and told it to learn code no joy didn’t work but I’ve you get it to let me no how it’s done so can change mine to an easy one

I will deffo take a look atthat page in the BeCM again tomorrow. I wonder if I can choose my own simple EKA? Like 1212?

I doubt you can do that with the Nanocom. Faultmate might be able to. I know Marty can read them to his laptop, change stuff and write it back. He cloned a BECM for me so I have a spare.
