Turbo

it turns out, i need a new turbo, mine is fooked!

has anyone got one, its a 300tdi (early, no electronics stuff on it) and i need it ASAP please! All suggestions welcome!

C. Davies at Phoenix Metals has got a couple of 300tdi discos in at the moment could be worth giving him a try?

turbo is jus fooked, miles of play in the shaft, enough to make it touch the sides - clouds of smoke when its not really warm, makes a horrid groaning noise under boost, wont reach full boost, lots of oil in the intake - its knickered!

Definitely don't want to be running it like that. It would suck (no pun intended) to have the engine ingest a vane broken off the impeller.

Aye. ITs already done another 100 miles since i discovered the turbow as shagged, all at about 2000 RPM!

Am gonna get a new one ASAP cos i kinda need my car! Anyone at all got one?
