Turbo Hose

Hi there

Currently pulled over on the m4 engine just died on me. I have a defender 90td5 2001. The engine still ticks over but the throttle has no effect. Opens the bonnet and the turbo hose I think is all misshapen as if its been sucked. Was woundering what would cause this? Cheers for the help

Sounds like the hose has delaminated inside mate. Severely restricts air flow. Hence it getting all sucked out of shape. If you take off hose and clear all the innards out, it might limp you home. Let us know how you get on

It's worth checking that the air filter isn't blocked too while yer at it.

just remove the pipe and drive home

as a sort of get you home sort of thing not for ever lol

Well finally got round to fixing it changed all 3 pipes to be on the safe side the 2 nearest the turbo were very very soft and the liner had deprecated from the outer sheath. So I think that may have solved it. Air filter was clear so fingers crossed it wont happen again soon.
