If these gimmicks were for real vehicle manufacturers would be fitting them as standard. There's always going to be mugs that believe there worth a try and part with their cash though. :der:

Anything that introduces a restriction in the airway isn't good, so not impressed. Isn't there some other rubbish called hyclone or something that also claims wonderful things.

This object appears to be unpowered, therefore the fan is spun by the air passing through it. My guess is that the theory behind this, if there is a theory, is to introduce a vortext into the air flow, which would increase the air velocity. This might help reduce the resistance to the airflow as it makes its way to into the manifold. A bit like the old trick of polishing the valve ports in the cylinder head. I suspect that as the designers of the engine would have considered the atmospheric impedance matching from the air intake to the manifold then this device is unlikely to have any noticable advantage to the engine performance. Best avoided.
