Turbo 300tdi silly question

Can the turbo be disconnected on the 300tdi and be run as a NA?

why would you wanna do that?

Your right that is a silly question but yes you can make it N/A but it wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding, it would probably struggle to pull itself along.

I have, a few day's into owning my current Disco the turbo hose split on way home, believe me it was the slowest trip home ever ... engine was totally gutless and could barely get above 30mph. Natas .. if you're considering removing the turbo, think very hard about it as you'll regret it.

Yes...black smoke, strange noises, no power...very worrying until you find out what it is...especially when it happens on the last few miles up through France towards the ferry port when towing a caravan
