Tub Lining

Ok this could open a can of worms! Truck cab with Tonneau cover. How would you give the Tub a bit of protection? Thought of chequer costs a lot and would possibly break the dogs jaw going around a corner, ply would just rot when wet. I could just paint it what have you guys done?

i used to have a swb series 3 with timber in the rear tub

the timber was 3"wide maple junkers floorboard rescued from a ballroom dancefloor they were demolishing only cost me £20 to get the security guard to go for a walk while we loaded up
