Well down Fan....Finished work and home now and glad I don't have to go anywhere

:D quick blast down the motorway, multi talented jump starting a disco and child minding at same time:p

Having prior experience with ignition amp faults I suspect this is one of them-easy when they fail completely.
When it wanted to play we had well defined scope trace that then went all to cock and it also didn't flood.
I'm familiar with early rv8i wiring and the ecu had trigger wire off negative of coil- I suspect disco v8i distributor system the same and when it wouldn't start we had no flooding, but fuel pressure.

All between entertaining my 16 month son at same time.

I'm gonna report LZIR to Trading standards. I'm gagging here only got water coffee or coke to drink  It's criminal I tell ya..

:hysterically_laughi I've a fridge full but had just one :p

Actually I'm outta beers and could do wiv a resupply drop?? Ya know where I am.. :D

There's a couple in the workshop yer welcome to :p

It's funny you know, I understand every word but when I try and put them together.....:confused:

the trigger wheel in distributor spins past pickup>pick up sends a signal to ignition amplifier which switches earth like points> ecu senses switching and fires injectors.

although we had a spark of sorts the scope shows a poor switch pulse- if the ecu can't see pulse no fuel. so we had hot crank with no flooding and fuel pressure.

the cheapest item and known issue is ignition amplifier. my pocket oscilloscope is both a digital multimeter for voltage, but can graphically show signal.

:D that better?
