Yes.

with four of them you can lift up 8 tonnes


so i'd say yes

Lift height is more important than swl. Some of the smaller cheapies have a very limited height. A longer arm is better as there's less horizontal movement

Thanks chaps. I found this one, its a 3T, and seems to be about 7 or 8 inches taller.

Expensive, I paid less than half that for a similar one in a supermarket.

'tis the one I have....

Lift still not tall enough to lift the L322 on the sill jacking points, so I use wood planks to raise jack and a wooden spreader on the jacking cup...

For a complete rear lift, I use a 12tonne bottle jack on wooden blocks to get the lift....I then lower and reposition the bottle jack for the final lift....the articulation of the L322 is quite impressive...

For the P38 lifting on the axle the Yankee is perfect!

I have a 2.5 ton Epco i bought in the seventies new for about £48.00 still going strong. Same size/quality today would be a few hundred quid. The £100.00 jacks from Halfrauds Sealey Etc are toys by comparison.

And you don't have to stand as close to the bar

got a 2.5 tonne from halfrauds. 25% off with trade card. was about 30 quid. Does the job wit the help of a block of wood.

What about something like this

That is a low lift with an extension fitted. Foot pad is to small in my opinion could easily slip off. These things are toys. Anything with plastic wheels is a no no in my view. Just cheap and cheerful toys. Look at the price of S/H Epco jacks on Ebay to give you some impression of what a proper jack costs.

Halfrauds do a 4x4 trolley jack got mine on special with them for 45 quid. does the rangie fine (its crap for sports cars though)

halfruads do a 'high lift' trolley jack it's got an extension tube to fit between the arm and the saddle lifts to a good height and has a decent size base to make it more stable

Get yourself a proper jack and itll last forever
Mine came off a mate out of torrie road bus depot when it closed (about 12years ago and it was old then)couldn't tell you the make as its scratched and beaten with spray paint all over it but its huge and lifts the entire front end about a foot off the ground
Must weigh 40kg though

yes it is a bit of a let down especially when mine slipped and the chassis landed on the saddle looks like the welder is coming out as it found a hole for me to sort

Maybe 40 years or more old and cost less than the asking price new. But this is a jack.
