I hate removing the trim from my D2 - I _always_ break at least one of the plastic thingys.

I can't help but think that the nylon/plastic ones on amazon won't be strong enough and the metal ones too fierce!

Can anyone recommend a set of trim tools to remove D2 trim - one that won't cost more than £20?

I got a full set of fancy trim removal things, still snapped bits of plastic on the A pillar, they glued back together alright though.

But they work reasonably well on the plastic plugs, probably cheaper and a lot less hassle to just buy some spare plugs(?) though off ebay.

A lot of the clips on Disco's, such as the ones in the door trims come in two parts - a red bit that is fixed in the car and a black bit which goes into the fixing hole. They are designed to come apart if you are slightly (but not too) vigorous. Most of the time you can clip them back together. Having said that, most of the clips are available very cheaply - some of the door ones were missing on my Disco 2 and I got these from ebay for a couple of quid (Land Rover Discovery 1 Door Trim Clips / Studs x10 MWC9134 | eBay)

Cheers!

Don't know if clips and trim fittings in D2 are the same as in D1 but I've found a carpenters claw hammer pretty handy for getting out some of the plastic 'nails' that hold the trim in place.
