Hello,

I've done some searching, but can't find a definitive answer. My interior is a cream colour leather, with black piping. The trim code taken from the plate under the bonnet is P.

Does anyone know what RR call that colour?

I'd like to buy some Gliptone to spruce it up a bit, but I don't want to get the wrong colour.

I think it might be Lightstone, but it could also be cream (if that is an official colour).

many thanks,

Al.

If you give your VIN number to your local LR parts dept they will give you the trim colour. I did this with Taunton LR, very helpful.
Also I've never used Gliptone but I have restored various cars and I use "Furniture Clinic". You can see them demonstrate there work on "youtube" or google their name.
They will supply all the cleaners, conditioners and the correct colour for your leather. They are also available on the phone for any queries. I've just repaired some scuffs on a car which I'm working on at present and it has come up like new. Also I've done the P38, but the drivers seat that takes most of the wear was in pretty good condition so all I done was give it a good clean and then applied their conditioner and it has come up great.

Did you ever get right colour and if what is it?
I have same code and like to purchase leather colour (P for Parchment?) Seller use code YAE for that though.

Oh well by trolling net found this and believe mine is Lightstone:

D = Dark Granite Cloth
E = Tan Cloth
F = Dark Granite Leather
G = Tan Leather
P = Lightstone Leather
U = Ash Grey Leather
V = Ash Grey Cloth
J = Walnut Leather
X = Light Stone Blue

If you're not sure what colour you have with a P38 RANGE ROVER, it's straightforward

Lightstone 70% of all P38's have this colour - it is a light beige

Saddle - a strong brown tan colour

Black - actually called ash grey but to most it's black

Granite - 2 shades to 1996 Light granite afterwards dark

Autobiographies 3% of all cars - you'll have to send a sample unless you have one of the above

Purchased this from Gliptone:
Liquid Leather Scuffmaster Recolouring Kit 250ml Land Rover - Range Rover - 2001 Interior code P Light Stone : 1 : 56.50

I never did find the right colour. Although i think you're right.

I ended up just getting some Auto Glym "leather treatment". It cleans the leather and makes them smell nice, supposed to restore "lost oils" etc, but it doesn't re-colour it. The Gliptone stuff you've listed looks like the way forward.

Can you take some before and after pictures when you do yours. I'd like to see the result.

Lazy git:D

Sure I will do a few photos for you, next week or next....

I can say from experience the liquid leather scuffmaster is great stuff. Previous owner of the Golden Girl obviously drove with right arm resting on door rest but a quick touch up with the liquid leather and you'd never know :)

I've just been looking through the source PDF files in Microcat, and found these....

Finally a difinitive answer. There's also a load of stuff about decoding your VIN, axel models fitted etc.

I might do a separate post about the trim and body colour codes. Be useful info for everyone.
