Yes just for the rough stuff and actually no not pointless the harnesses are not road legal and I also have a child which needs a standard 3 point belt :)

harnesses are generally road legal, for off road use unless you're planning on doing hardcore stuff theres no point, they're a faff to get on and off, cant reach things etc

the point of a harness is that you're tight onto the seat and cant move which is why stuff in rally cars, f1 etc are all within arms reach with no stretching

Bulkhead int strong enogh for an harness and is too low any way. harnesses where the rear mount is too low cause Massive neck and back injuries in the event of a crash.

ive got harnesses in one of my 90`s i made a cross bar for mine to wrap around at the height of the slots in the seats just above the bulkhead. I cut some 2 inch wide 10mm plate and fixed it diagonally from the seat belt top mount and the rear seat mount on each side and then welded a 2 inch tube between the two at the desired height.
The harnesses then simply wrap around the tube

Ideal solution. I'm amazed at the number of peeps who fit em with no idea of the damage they can do. when incorrectly fitted.

Saw 1 110 once where he'd fastened em direct to seat box & used Penny washers as spacers. and expected em to keep him safe, Also seen a disco with bucket seats fitted and he'd put the rear harness to the seatbox

ive used all the original seat belt mounts and bolts to fix the harness buckles to. i never actually wear a setbelt in anything i drive, never have other than when i was rallying. ive had one or two accident over the years writing 3 cars off, lol, never once wearing a seat belt, i once had an accident as a co driver in a rally car and the harnesses left some nasty bruises on my chest and shoulders, they where only 2 inch harnesses, i use 3 inch now.
Yes joe its crazy what you see some people do, the injuries they could sustain in an accident dont bear thinking about
