Transmission brake leaking transfer box oil

Afternoon

I have oil dripping out from a small hole on the bottom of the transmission brake


I'm loosing about a litre per week/500 miles


Any ideas?

Rear output seal, easy to replace...

it is likely to have soaked your handbrake shoes as well.

Handbrake is holding well still....

Is it a do at home job then?

It is if you can get the nut off, you will also need something to prise the old seal out and something to push home the new one. If you are in doubt get a garage to do it, its not an expensive job and it only takes one siezed prop bolt to make everything a nightmare...

chock wheels take off rear propshaft take off brake drum remove backplate prise out seal refit ..happy days eh !!
