hello boys and girls of landy zone, its been awhile
well lets try and keep this short and to the point
i bought a P38A 1997 4.6 V8 HSE as a prodject and ive descovered that the transfer box doesnt change from high to low, so checked the micro switch on the gear stick and all was good, so thought id see what the ecu was like, well just by taking it out i knew it was nackered, it rattled and it had that burnt smell when electrics go bang, so took it aparts and lets just say it tommy tucked....
ive read afew problems with these burning out, and ive seen that there are about 5 different ecu part numbers out there, and as mine is a 1997 im sure ive got the early one (AMR 5254 on my case) but the later AMR 6459 ecu has a built in heat sink which i would think would be a better way forward
does anyone know if the AMR 6459 will plug into my p38 and work, or if any of the other ecu's will work..... i hope that they arent coded to the car
regards
adam
