hey all..
just wondering if anyone can help?.. im in the process of swapping my 1986 90's transfer box for a 1992 disco one... so far the conversion is going well.. apart from the linkages- the diff lock linkage dosnt seem to have enough travel:confused: on the transfer box it seems like the selector has 3 positions? (you can feel a middle click between the range of travel?) the selector shaft is the same on the old tbox.. (ive only had the car a few months, so i havnt had the chance to test the diff lock)
the question is.. is a simple on/off situation with the shaft? or is it a on/neutral/off?:confused::confused::confused:
cheers for any help:)

Hi Steve,
Just to be sure...
Fully to the back is High range, centre Neutral, Fully Forward low range. lever to the right normal 4WD, Lever left Diff Lock (6 positions). Levers often quite stiff, especially in Discoveries as they very rarely get used in Diff Lock. The actuator is not very strong so go easy and clean it well lubricating it with grease.

Cheers,

cheers dent and graham, realy helpful:):) the disco tbox had snapped the little linkage section for the high/ low, i unseized the selector (wd40/big hammer) used the 90 linkage and smothered it in grease.. the stress came:( when i came to reconnect the diff lock linkagage and realised that it had 3 positions and i wasnt getting 'full' travel off the selector linkage (of course i didnt check it before i took it apart:(..) so hence a panicked visit to landy zone;)
cheers again, steve
