hi everybody,
im having a bad morning! just spent every night this week taking off my transfer box (because some stupid prick decided it would be fun to dunk every bolt in a tub of locktight) changing various bearings and oil seals that were gone. mainly on the middle shaft, where the drive goes down from the gearbox to the transfer box. took it for a spin this morning only to have a whine coming from the transfer box area, it whines when the engine is under load (like goin down a hill in low gear) doesnt seem to make any noise in reverse. the noise stops as soon as you accelerate again. the only thing i put together slightly differently was the middle shaft i said about before, when i put the new bearings on and put the shaft in it seemed quite loose so i put in a small spacer piece on the end, it is very snug on he shaft and there is still a little lateral play on the cogs etc. any ideas??
