Transfer box seal replacement non starter

Well bought an new front seal for the transfer box, Saturday afternoon i dropped of the prop and flange to find this.

Crap think i need a new one, part number anyone.

One quick question, should the seal sit this far in?

I'm used to seals sitting flush not recessed right in, what do ya think
