hello, has anyone got an idea of what the noise could be ?cheers
hi, thanks for the reply....its a new prop on the rear, would the shaft have play in it if the bearings are worn because there is no play?thanks rob
are you sayin it doesnt make the noise with both front and rear wheels up, if so its nothing to worry its just the sudden change of power in the diff gears as only one axle was off the ground and so been spunhello just reporting back...be have had the front up and back wheels on the ground and it does not seem to make the noise...could it be the back bearing in the tbox?the nut was very very tight and we had to chisel it loosen it up... ?thanks rob
in which case id look at rear bearing, nut holding drive flange should be tightno it still makes the noise if both front and back are off the ground...with the back on the ground it does not make the noise!
I think that just underlines that you are better off buying from a reputable source!hi another update after a lot of time wasted with 2nd hand gearbox and tbox i have bought a gearbox and tbox from ashcroft which are fitted into place now and just need xbrake and prop connecting and it should be all good!!
I would agree with that, when buying second hand boxes I buy at a price that expects it will need to be sent off for refurb, if it doesn't then it is a bonus!I think that just underlines that you are better off buying from a reputable source!
Glad you are on the way to getting it fixed!!
