on my 200TDi disco - had to replace front prop UJ's about 2 months ago - one had gone big time :(. Now find front T-box oil seal is leaking badly. I can move the prop vertically a very small, but noticeable, amount.

Now - Q for you guys........

Do I replace oil seal, or do I replace the front bearing as well?
Is there any adjustment on front bearing (to "tighten" it up)?
How difficult is the bearing change?
Any particular wheezes or out?

I think Trew did one a while back?

replace the roller bearing whilst in there, there is no adjustment. you need a slide hammer to remove the shaft along with the bearing. Last one took me 25 minutes in total.

ere Buster - yu modded a puller to remove the shaft - can yu remember the thread size on the shaft nut? Any drawings?

Sorry Daft, ah dunno anything about it as ah borrowed it from the bloke at me local Indy. From what ah can remember, he said he had somebody make it up for him.
Dunno if it would be worth takin' yer old nut somewheres to get it measured or summit and makin' summit yersel'?;)
