Trans oil leak

JuSt took my 2003 vogue 4.4 v8 out off the garage after been stored for the winter, to find an oil leak on the floor which is Trans fluid. After getting underneath it seems to be coming out off where the box bolts to the engine and leaking onto the anti roll bar.The battery was flat so jumped it and the starter clicked then fired up and flashed the Trans fault on the display, which I am putting down to loss of fluid.


Any help on the leak is it a seal on the output shaft or something any info would be appreciated .

The TRANS FAILSAFE PROG message will have been the result of low battery voltage and not the oil leak.

How sure are you that it's transmission fluid e.g. what colour is it? Fresh LT71141 is honey coloured though obviously it goes darker with age.

It's is trans fluid I no by the smell,and when I went to drive out it took a few seconds to move as if the fluid was building up in the box before it built enough pressure to engage.or maybe that was just a result of it sitting up for 6 months.
