Evening, currently got a range rover L322 2003 TD6

Trans Fail safe msg comes on dash and sometimes engage neutral, only when you floor it under load, but ease off it goes off ? And same again hard accelerating, ease off throttle and it disapears, hdc light also on all the time.

I notice theres some good info and knowledge any help would be appreciated. I will always report back with findings and info

Had a new battery fitted a month ago as was not getting used and went dead, problems happend ever since.

Nobody ? Oh well here goes, if it started after new battery have you try`d doing a battery reset thing where you disconnect positive and negative leads from battery and then touch leads together to reset every thing.

Thanks for the advice,
I havent tried anything yet, from past experience with these i know its best to gain some knowledge on the fault before diving in. I will try the battery reset tonight, can i ask is there a known safe procedure that works ? Or maybe a guide on here .

Cheers

Make sure the LED on the sat nav CD unit in the left rear quarter has gone out before you disconnect the battery or you will kill it. I doubt the battery reset will achieve anything.

Okay will give it ago later.
I have purchased a icarsoft unit which i had previously bought for a 2002 V8 vogue, done all the tricks with fault finding and resetting the ecu modules, so will see what that brings up at the weekend.in the mean time will try a battery reset see what happens.

I have read allot of info on these, and other boxes all in my opionion i would say there all a bit soft and have there own problems.

Again my fault causes no issues no limp mode no locking in gear just the 2 msgs, trans fail safe and engage neutral. All the power is still there and all the gear changes are smooth and responsive.

Mines just started on this too but only whilst its towing....

One thing to note, mine also does this when its cold and hasnt been used for a while. I'm told by a landy mechanic i know, that this is normal......
