I have one of the little galvanised trailers, like you get in halfrauds for a couple of hundred quid. Sadly over the winter, the tyres have had a bit of a ravaging, and one of them has a split sidewall, although holding pressure, don't really want to take a chance on a motorway with a couple of site boxes in it.

I've been looking round, and the majority of places only sell tyre and rim complete. I have found a couple of sites which sell the tyres only, for about £14 each which seems ok.

However, is it possible to fit these tyres on a DIY basis ? do they have inner tubes ?

or should I just take it in to my local tyre place and get them to fit the new tyres ?

thanks for your help team...

I've only done it once before but it had an inner tube. I assume you mean little wheels around 10 inch. If you can get the tyre on the rim, pumping it up should be enough to set it. All I did was got one side in place then pumped it up until the other popped into place.

10" wheels are the old mini size im sure you mean 8" about the size of a wheel barrow tyre and yes they are pretty easy to get off and on and if the little trailer is only a few years old itll deffo have tubeless tyres just remember the trick to getting those tyres off and on is ti squash the rim of the tyre into the groove in the centre of the wheel while yer lever the other side (start with 2 levers in the same place first as its a lot easier)

coinsidentaly the little trailer tyres will fit and make a great replacement for yer wheel barrow when the ****ty baloon tyre on that bursts on a thorn lol

they're marked up 4.80/4.00 - 8 so I'm guessing 8"

cheers for that, I'll order a couple up and have a go meself.

results will be posted on here for future reference

do the wheels bolt off the hub or are they the built in bearing type coz the 8" wheels that are like little car wheels can be got fer bout £25 each saveing the bother of fitting tyres

I had a tyre like this replaced a couple of years back on my trailer tent, and the guy in the tyre place told me, these little tyres are a **** to change, tractor tyres are much easier, after seeing him struggle with it wouldn't attempt it myself
