Me again, i have a 2004 4.4 petrol L322 range rover, which many of you have watched me dissect and have just fitted a westfalia oem type towbar and westfalia oem 13 pin dedicated wiring loom and ecu.

Has anyone used a lighting board or trailer with the 13 pin electrics as i was wondering whether i have to buy a trailer board with reversing light and fog light with the 13 pin electrics so as to not cause the lighting ECU to think they are missing?

Any help much appreciated as always

Cheers

ok, thanks guys, i'll go for the standard lighting configuration and see what gives. I know i cant use an LED light board
Stand by for update.
Thanks very much

hmm, i might ask the company selling the lightboards who seem pretty good and the units are made in the uk, however we all know the RR is law unto itself.

The spec on the wiring kit says trailer led - No, as on the attached link.

i would quite like the LED board but i have had a bit of a look around and some people have found that LED boards give the symptoms of a trailer bulb out warning by flashing the side lights on and off and rapid turn signal flashing.

There are a few gadgets i found to overcome this in the states

U-Haul: Moving supplies: LED Light Trailer Module

thanks for the help so far

If it gives bulb out warnings
You can disable just the trailer warning messages through diagnostics

I know as iv done this when fitting LED rear lights to my L322

Another reason for me to buy a faultmate, if i dont go bankrupt from owning this car i might buy one
cheers

the oem should be fine.

don't see the issue?

my original concern was the 13 pin electrics can connect a reversing light and fog light where i didnt think the 7 pin did and wondered if i used a light board without those lights the vehicle might think they were missing or blown and throw a fault.
the later question was regarding using an LED light board which give the same issues as using LED rear lights on the earlier models that didnt originally have them
cheers
