anyone shed any light on this , i get traction failure on cold and warm start up and also when i switch of , plugged in my faultmate to read any faults but no faults at all , abs etc all work fine this fault is on my 2000 30th aniversary which has 73000 genuine miles
scatching my head what to try

I got that a lot when my battery was getting low. Would also get gearbox fault from time to time due to low battery. Check it is good first as it is the easiest to rule out.

I also got that a couple of times when I was on a small battery - once I upgraded to the biggest battery it never came back, which I doubt was coincidence.
Check alternator is outputting 14.2V at 2k rpm :)

Same here. Had a battery which started the engine OK but when it was cranking the multimeter showed it dropped to about 6 volts!!! New battery and alls well.
