Hi guys, iv a 2001 td5 disco 2 with manual box.
On Thursday I changed the CV boot on the drivers side, all went back ok.
Drove it home Friday (dry flat road) an the traction control randomly kicks in pulling the car to the left, this morning I re- took out the sensor on the hub to check clean etc, took for test drive now traction control kicks is as soon as I pull off an now the ABS comes on to.
Bit miffed so any advice would be great thanks in advance.
 
I understand that the sensor is such a sensitive little beast that it is not a good idea to even touch it. The distance between the reluctor ring and the sensor is so critical that it is recommended that you don't even try to remove /replace/ change the sensor but rather change both hub and sensor together. It would appear you disturbed the sensor while doing the first job and then peed it off even more when you took it out and put it back in again! All the symptoms you are describing seem to indicate the SLABS or ABS computer thinks the wheel in question is slipping when it actually isn't. Or maybe the opposite wheel. I'd recommend perhaps taking the sensor out one last time, cleaning the b6gger up and then making sure it goes back right in as properly as you can. If that fails you may well be stuck with getting a new hub. My fingers are all crossed for you.
 
When you refit the sensor tap it back gently with a rubber hammer untill it's fully in it's place then tighten the retaining screw.

If I'm not mistaken, there is also an O ring or washer on that sensor that would probably act as a spacer. Also, since TC is being applied on the LHS, check if the RH brakes are sticking. If you have a diagnostic tool, take it for a short run and get live readings of the wheel speed sensors. You will immediately know which side is playing up.

Hi NPG yeah there's a rubber o ring that sits on a ledge, an two shims/spacers under the retaining plate, all went back as came out.
Yeah that thru me a bit as was the drivers side I worked on but the passenger side traction came on as pulled to the left.
She had new front discs an pads 3 weeks ago.

Hi guys replaced the hub, new hub with sensor did another diagnostic scan come up with right sensors failure but on the live data scan both front hubs give same reading , confused.com lol
