Hi,

It seems that the tracking in my FL1 keeps getting knocked out. I've only had the car since April and I've already had the tracking done twice, now it needs doing again because the steering pulls slightly to the left. So far, I've only been down farm tracks and the like, occasionally through some mud ruts and that seems to be enough to knock it out. Surely this isn't right though?

Steering wheel off centre is an indication of tracking being out. Is yours still straight? The steering is quite robust and so shouldn't get bent that easily. Perhaps there's another issue, worn bushes in lower wishbone maybe or is it simply following the camber of the road?

I thought my tracking was out as it was pulling to the left, swapped wheels over and it started pulling to the right, had tracking checked and it was spot on, apparently it was a faulty tyre, put a new boot on and problem sorted.

Hmm, I noticed the problem soon after I had the front left tyre replaced. (It pulls to the left when you take your hand of the steering wheel) Maybe the tyre is faulty.

Just gotta figure out how to lift the front up and then I can swap the wheels over. I only have one suitable jack.

Are the tyre pressures equal?

You'll have to pop the spare on while you change the fronts over...
