Hi Guys,

Picking up my 60 plated RR AutoB 5.0 S/C tomorrow, so called up my insurer (Direct Line) to transfer over my current cars insurance. Was happy that the premium had dropped but really surprised when told that I had to get a tracker fitted for it to be covered for theft.

Will get one fitted but was just surprised based on age and value and wondered if anyone had this

Thanks
Tim

Mine is an early L322 and some insurers want a tracker on it before even considering insuring. Direct Line is now my 'previous' insurer due to this.

Yea I have one on the P38 (lifetime of ownership) they lost their ££ on that deal, Oh got one on my leg too......

I don't think Direct Line like Range Rovers for some reason. I switched when they wanted double the premium I was paying on an Alfa GTV.

Cost about £50 and then maybe a tenner a year for the SIM card. Not a lot for your pride and joy?

Not the type Direct Line , and others, were asking to insure mine. They wanted the type with real time monitoring and a proven standard
How much does it cost to get a tracker installed?

Does it have to be a specific one that the insurers require?

Was OK for MrGorsky's RV. You can track him in real time across the globe. Insurers over here insisted on it. The RV cost £££

I'm sure it was, but that type wasn't ok for Direct Line* or several others to insure my L322. Even with their 'chosen/ accepted tracker fitters and suppliers, they were much more expensive than other options. Who knows the thinking with underwriters.

*Even odder, I bought the Golden Girl mid-policy , and they were happy to insure, without tracker. Come renewal date that all changed. I have checked every year since, and every year has been the same story.
