I have a Detroit locker in the rear and a trutrac in the front f my tdi 90,

I noticed when I fit them I could tell a diffrence with its road manners,

These are exaggerated and made worse when towing my caravan,

Eg, pulling off a roundabout its trying to pull straight and I it takes some force to hold it going the way you want if I ease off he power I will come to a stop. Obviously it gets worse as more power bin used.

Anyone eles had this? I'm considering possibly swapping to Ashcroft or arb air lockers as I use it a lot off road.

i have a detroit in the rear of my 110, and towed a twin wheel caravan 280 mile, I actually thought it drove better with the caravan attached

with detroit lockers if you enter a corner with a little throttle mid way around lift off and see how it tightened up meaning you steer less slightly after a while you get used to it tho

One thing check your rear bushes as they wear out double quick with a detroit fitted any slop there would be horrendus towing a caraven

Not sure but don't think its the locker in the rear, I think its th trutrac that's the problem

Detroits are fit and forget ashcroft are better on off ability but serious monrey. I like my detroit I will be towing my 4 wheel car transporter all over the country over the next couple of years with a comp motor on I cannot forsee any issues. I am selling the front locker to spyderman as its evil on the road

When you say front locker? You mean trutrac lsd?

I currently have a lockright full locker A very crude detroit and awful on the road throttle dictates steering but I use it in RWD with freewheeling hubs until I get to an offroad site. Will be selling to spydie for his series and replacing it with a 4 pin open until Funds allow for an ashcroft or True Trac

If I were you I would consider trying towing with a trutrac befor you buy,

You know its there on the road as with any front wheels driving with an lsd, it just seams to get a lot worse with weight on the back
