Towing Capacities

You haven't seen my heavy weight trailer!

The 2286 which runs a dream and pulls great struggled with a series 3. Top speed about 30. The V6 with same trailer managed 45 with a 2a on the back..but not to worry I have decided against using the v6 as several of you suggested it wouldn't cope and bought a 90 today...V6 anyone?

30 ...??!!! that would have been nice. Might have managed about 25, really hilly around here and I kept having to pull over to let the queue of cars go past. Did manage to overtake a tractor though, had a really good run up!

The pajero TDi and autobox are about to find their way into a tax exempt Series to hopefully give me nice chunky & cheap towcar ... transmission layout is bit of a pig though ...

V6 - is that one of the 3 litre essex or the later 2.8's?

Its a 3.0 litre essex....

my s 111 when it had the 2.25 diesel in it struggled to pull its self but now with a 200tdi it feels like it could tow any thing but not tryed to pull any thing yet.

Just remember to say a short prayer for your rear halfshafts before you do ...
