Dad just bought himself a very nice disco 3 tdv6 se 05 plate

he needs a towbar now to tow caravan so needs twin electrics.
detachable or fixed towbar?

can anyone recomend a fitter in north devon.

i know that the range rover has a plug n play for the black plug, does the disco have the same?

thanks disco lovers

If you can find a bar you shouldn't need a fitter, the mountings should be built into the car. A few bolts and your done! and the wiring should just plug in if you use a car specific kit.

thanks kernow does that include the grey plug (plug n play)

whats a reasonable price to pay he needs it as asap but want to avoid main stealer prices ?

is there a downloadable manual like rave for disco 3 ?

I'm sure there must be a RAVE like electronic manual for the D3, but I don't know if it's broken loose onto the net yet. I haven't seen one.

There are quite a few bar suppliers on ebay, with two different types available...the detachable one and more standard flange type. Some of them are fairly pricey but others are closer to £100-£150 which sounds more reasonable to me. There should be both single and dual socket kits around, there a couple on fleabay again.

I'm not hugely familar with the underside of a D3 but looking at the listings for the detachable hitches it looks like the car should have a receiver for it built in?? Incidently the D3 bars are the same as the RR Sport, so it might widen the choice.
