Hello
Recently had the rear cross member replaced on my 1992 Defender.
I need to re wire the wires back into the tow electrics terminal but they’re all yellow and have been disconnected from the terminal completely. How do I differentiate them?
Thanks

Are you wiring it back to a NATO plug or a Civi.
The little sleeve's on the yellow wires should have letters on, A to N.
A, F,H are spare. B left hand stop light. C convoy. D and L earth. E tail and number plate light.
J right hand stop light. K aux positive. M left hand turn light. N right hand turn light.
Hope this helps, if you won't the civi plug system let me know.

I tried to find sleeves on mine but couldn’t, are they near the plug itself? I was going to return it to NATO but also but an adapter to civi.

On mine the sleeves are at the end of the wire.
I have come across some wiring where the sleeves are missing due to have being cut
and re-wired!.

Both ends of the loom, don't any of the wires have markings.
If i could get to mine i would take some photos for you to see, but i cannot get to her
due to our Wales COVID-19 lock down(5-mile radius from where we live) landy 20 miles
from where i live.
Sorry i can't help you more.

Thanks anyway mate. I’ll try to rub the dirt and mud off and see what I can see.

Well might have hit a snag. Someone’s chopped the wiring halfway up so pointless me trying to rewire the nato plug! now I’ll have to wire in a fresh 7 pin job.
