Tow hook bolts - OE LR part

Just come to refit my bar on this new car, can't find the bolts from when I took it off the old car

Does anyone know the spec of the bolts so I can buy some replacements, both the dealer and even my local independent LR place want to sell an entire bar

Need the end piece ones which go in to the rear chassis legs and the longer vertical ones that go through the crossmember in to the boot floor somewhere.

I know you're supposed to relieve the old ones off the factory tow eye but on this car it all fits still in place strangely. Perhaps different chassis legs on the Y reg - old car was a 2003.



Here is a pic - except my bar doesn't have the tongue bits sticking out either side of the hitch - the vertical bolts go straight through the box section.

just measure the length you need and the diameter of the hole and get some from local ironmongery/autoparts shop. as long as they're high tensile you'll be fine (they'll have an 8 or a 10 stamped on the head of the bolt)

and dont forget to get nyloc nuts instead of ordinary ones (i.e. with a nylon insert) to stop them unscrewing.
