You can't just bolt a hitch straight to your crossmember you'll rip it to bits ffs.

I may have got this wrong but.... I cant see and existing tow bar (onto the chassis) or electrics. Bolting a tow hitch straight onto the rear crossmember could be a big mistake. I think you need something like this... 202047 Dixon Bate adjustable dropplate kit - 110 - 1999 on

I'm sure the MOD would disagree with you. As thats exactly where the nato pintle hitches are fastened. Albeit with a backing plate.
There's no reason why the OP can't fit his hitch to the cross member as long as he only wants to use it as a recovery point. and uses a suitable backing plate behind the cross member to absorb the strain.
No use for towing a normal car trailer or caravan though.

leave the jockey wheel fully wound down.Makes towing much more interesting

been there done theat goon left it down on a RIB (Boat) trailer, was driving at about 60mph on a motorway before i noticed, how did i notice?? the fookin thing came off after melting away the rubber wheel, had snapped off, bounced of the ground at 60mph, bounced up, and went through the hull of the boat at which point i was pulled over by someone flashing there lights and weaving in front of me, screaming 'your boats on fire?!?!?'... went back to the boat, found a smoldering jocky wheel sticking out of my boat.... never will i tow anything with the music so loud i cant hear something like that going on behind me
