I'm currently replacing some bits and bobs around my 2006 110 csw and need to replace the tow electrics.

I intend to replace the short loom that goes from the multi-plug to the N-Type tow electrics socket. The old socket was mounted on a bracket which bolted onto the back of the drop plate, underneath the crossmember like this:

Does anybody have any idea how to fit the connector into the hole in the rear cross member like this: sorry image isnt huge, but you get the idea.

My crossmember has a big square hole in it - is there a bracket available, or is it a case of just making a backing plate to fit the connector?

Do some people have a cross member with pre-drilled holes like this one (page 3 on this link, top left picture)

Thanks in advance.

After nobody being able to offer any advice, I ordered a replacement loom and offered it up. The rectangular hole is, i beleive, fitted to 1998 and newer vehicles, with the more modern multipolug based wiring. the multiplug fits through the rectangular hole, and then all you need to do is mark the crossmember inner, and drill three holes to 4mm. These 4mm holes can then be tapped to M5, which is the same size as the provided screws. If you try to use screws and nuts, you cant get in, to hold the nut.
Dont drill 5mm holes like I did! you'll end up having to tap M6 holes and go buy three M6x40mm screws!

Hope this helps somebody. It means your tow electrics are much more protected- from both knocks and bumps, and from the elements.
